Rita holds an MSc in Conservation and Land Management from Bangor University, two Master’s degrees: an MSc in Animal Biology, Ecology and Conservation, a Master of Education in Natural Sciences, and a PhD in Ecology and Biodiversity from the Doctoral School of Natural Resources Management and Development (EDGRND), all from the university of Antananarivo. She is a biodiversity conservation and climate change specialist with national and international experience. Passionate about contributing to solutions for Madagascar’s environmental challenges, she has dedicated her academic and professional career to conservation and climate action. Rita is the founder and current leader of Nosy Maitso, an organization working to combat biodiversity loss and promote sustainable environmental initiatives in Madagascar. She also works as an independent climate change consultant, supporting projects related to conservation, resilience, and sustainable development, with a strong commitment to protecting Madagascar’s unique ecosystems for present and future generations.
